| Cuban Ambassador calls on State Minister for Immigration |

Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba to The Bahamas, His Excellency Jose Luis Ponce paid a courtesy call on Minister of State for Immigration the Hon. Branville McCartney on Thursday, February 5 at the Immigration Department on Hawkins Hill. Talks centered on strengthening ties between both countries and the status of Cubans at the Detention Centre. Also present at the briefing were Jack Thompson, Director of Immigration; Cora Colebrooke, Deputy Permanent Secretary; Donald Michael Clarke, Deputy Director; Roderick Bowe, Senior Deputy Director; and Gustavo Veliz, First Secretary, Embassy of the Republic of Cuba, Bahamas.
