Northwest Bahamas remains under tropical storm warning at 3pm alert

Alert #30 on Tropical Storm Isaac issued by The Bahamas Department of Meteorology at 3pm, Sunday 26th, August 2012.

Isaac has not strengthened.

Tropical storm warnings remain in effect for the Northwest Bahamas, namely Bimini, Grand Bahama, Andros, New Providence, Berry Islands, Abaco and Eleuthera but have been discontinued for the Turks and Caicos Islands and the Central and Southeast Bahamas.

At 2pm, the center of Tropical Storm Isaac was located near latitude 23.9 degrees north and longitude 81.5 degrees west or about 232 miles west-southwest of Fresh Creek, Andros, 277 miles west-southwest of Nassau, and 180 miles south of South Bimini.

Isaac is moving toward the west-northwest near 18 miles per hour.  A west-northwest to northwest motion is expected during the next 48 hours with a gradual decrease in forward speed. On the forecast track, the center of Isaac is expected to move near or over the lower Florida Keys later today and tonight and move into the eastern Gulf of Mexico on Monday.

Tropical Storm Warnings remain for Northwest Bahamas

ALERT #29 ON TROPICAL STORM ISAAC ISSUED BY THE BAHAMAS DEPARTMENT OF METEOROLOGY AT NOON, SUNDAY 26TH, AUGUST 2012.

THE OUTER RAINBANDS OF ISAAC ARE LASHING NORTHWEST BAHAMAS AS IT MOVES TOWARDS SOUTH FLORIDA KEYS.

TROPICAL STORM WARNINGS REMAIN IN EFFECT FOR THE NORTHWEST BAHAMAS, NAMELY BIMINI, GRAND BAHAMA, ANDROS, NEW PROVIDENCE, BERRY ISLANDS, ABACO AND ELEUTHERA BUT HAVE BEEN DISCONTINUED FOR THE TURKS AND CAICOS AND THE CENTRAL AND SOUTHEAST BAHAMAS.

AT 11AM, THE CENTER OF TROPICAL STORM ISAAC WAS LOCATED NEAR LATITUDE 23.9 DEGREES NORTH AND LONGITUDE 80.8 DEGREES WEST OR ABOUT 176 MILES WEST-SOUTHWEST OF FRESH CREEK, ANDROS, 200 MILES WEST-SOUTHWEST OF NASSAU, AND 133 MILES SOUTH OF SOUTH BIMINI.

ISAAC IS MOVING TOWARD THE WEST-NORTHWEST NEAR 18 MILES PER HOUR.  A WEST-NORTHWEST TO NORTHWEST MOTION IS EXPECTED DURING THE NEXT 48 HOURS WITH A GRADUAL DECREASE IN FORWARD SPEED. ON THE FORECAST TRACK, THE CENTER OF ISAAC SHOULD MOVE JUST NORTH OF THE NORTH COAST OF CUBA THIS MORNING, MOVE NEAR OR OVER THE FLORIDA KEYS LATER TODAY AND TONIGHT AND MOVE INTO THE EASTERN GULF OF MEXICO ON MONDAY.

ALERT #24 ON TROPICAL STORM ISAAC ISSUED BY THE BAHAMAS DEPARTMENT OF METEOROLOGY SATURDAY 25TH AUGUST 2012 AT 9PM

THE CENTER OF ISAAC MOVING NORTHWESTWARD JUST OFF THE COAST OF NORTHEASTERN CUBA.

A HURRICANE WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT FOR THE ISLAND OF ANDROS.

A HURRICANE WATCH MEANS THAT HURRICANE CONDITIONS ARE EXPECTED WITHIN THE WATCH AREA WITHIN 48 HOURS.

TROPICAL STORM WARNINGS REMAIN IN EFFECT FOR THE REMAINING ISLANDS OF THE BAHAMAS AND THE TURKS AND CAICOS ISLANDS.  A TROPICAL STORM WARNING MEANS THAT TROPICAL STORM CONDITIONS ARE EXPECTED WITHIN THE WARNING AREAS WITHIN 36 HOURS.

AT 8PM THE CENTER OF TROPICAL STORM ISAAC WAS LOCATED NEAR LATITUDE 21.7 DEGREES NORTH AND LONGITUDE 76.7 DEGREES WEST OR ABOUT 220 MILES SOUTH-SOUTHEAST OF NASSAU, 205 MILES WEST OF MATTHEW TOWN, INAGUA, 150 MILES SOUTH-SOUTHEAST OF MAR’S BAY, SOUTH ANDROS, AND 86 MILES WEST-SOUTHWEST OF DUNCAN TOWN, RAGGED ISLAND.
